RJshop.nl from Rijssen launches its new mobile webshop today for all smartphone and tablet users. The percentage of visitors via these mobile devices has significantly grown over the past year, and thus RJshop is responding to the demand from this target group.
“We could have chosen to adapt the current e-commerce webshop to a mobile variant, but we opted to have a completely new design built on a separate m-commerce platform,” says Rene Jansen, director of RJshop.nl. The choice quickly fell on the mobile platform of Qweery since the connection with this party had already been established in the past for a search function on RJshop.nl. “Their mobile platform has proven within a short time to fully meet all the needs and requirements of our mobile users,” Rene continues. “However, we chose to have a unique design built that perfectly matches the current style of RJshop.nl.” This last part was developed by the permanent e-commerce partner Epartment. “With us, a customer should feel just as at home on the mobile shop as on the www variant. And of course, all our customers are welcome, so all operating systems such as iOS, Android, Blackberry, and Windows are fully supported.”
Unlike many other mobile webshops, all main categories from the e-commerce shop of RJshop correspond with the mobile application. “Navigating through the ‘normal’ site feels very natural for many users, and we would like to convey that feeling in the mobile variant of RJshop.nl,” says Rene. “By using product groups, which are supported by images, our customers know exactly which product group they are in. In combination with any specifically displayed filters, the visitor ends up exactly at the right product. And of course, a good search function is essential to achieve the desired search result.”
To make fast service possible in the mobile variant, the user can check out using PayPal or iDeal. Orders can be placed until 8:00 PM, with products in stock in the 600m2 warehouse being delivered to the customer the next day! “And when the customer prefers to pay only when the products are delivered to their home by PostNL, we also offer the payment option of cash on delivery,” says Rene.
