Every day, billions of searches are conducted with Google. These searches vary greatly. The company is, however, quite curious and wants to know what these searches entail. Now, they want to improve search services by automatically delivering information via searches that you wouldn't normally think about. The difference is that these searches will also be provided on mobile devices, as you wouldn't normally just search for them on your laptop or PC.
Google's ambition is to organize all information worldwide in a clear manner and make it universally accessible. However, they first need to figure out what the limitations are and how to deal with them. These are the words of Jon Wiley, who is in charge of ‘user experience design’ at Google Search. This can be done by empathizing with the people themselves and utilizing new technological developments, such as smartphones. The research that Wiley will conduct could lead Google in new directions."One of the patterns that stands out is the multitude of devices that people have in their lives." he says. Given the fact that mobile devices allow Google to identify the aforementioned limitations, they could also be effectively used in the future. Where GPS chips and sensors reveal a lot about a person and their situation, they can also be used by Google to know what the person wants. "We've often said the perfect search engine will provide you with exactly what you need to know at exactly the right moment, potentially without you having to ask for it," Wiley says.
