Magento Multi-Store benefits for your e-commerce platform

Magento Multi‑Store allows you to manage multiple (sub)domain webshops from a single Magento installation. Consider separate webshops for languages or customer segments, while you centrally manage them via a single admin interface.

Why is this interesting for Epartment customers?

  • Central management environment: all your stores are located in one environment, ideal for integrations with ERP, PIM, and the Conneqt platform that Epartment often uses.

  • Scalability with customization: different storefronts within one installation, each with its own themes, currencies, payment, and shipping options — perfectly tailored to different target groups.

  • Cost-effective: extensions, themes, and management costs only need to be installed once, while maintaining customization per store.

Main advantages of Multi‑Store setup

  1. Unique configuration per store

For each store, you can set your own payment methods, shipping options, content, and prices, but settings can also be shared if desired.

  2. Shared customer and inventory management

Customer data, shopping cart content, and inventory management can be centrally shared, increasing cross-sell and upsell potential.

  3. Uniform SEO management

Meta-data, URL structures, and sitemaps can be managed or shared at the webshop level for consistent SEO performance.

  4. Central management, yet flexible

Within one Magento installation, you manage multiple stores, each with its own branding or language versions — and retain technical management in one place.

Technical setup in a few steps

1. Build structure

Magento has four layers: Global → Website → Store → Store View. This allows you to handle languages, regions or product categories flexibly.

2. Create stores

In the admin panel:

  • Go to Stores → All Stores

  • Create new Website (optional), then a Store and the Store View (e.g., for language settings) .

3. Domains and URL settings

Under Configuration → Web, provide the correct Base URL per store and edit ‘secure’ HTTPS settings. These can be set as a subdomain or a completely new domain .

4. Assign product catalog

In each product setting, determine via the Websites tab on which stores the product is available. This way, stores can operate independently or share content.

5. Configure themes and layout

Through Content → Design → Configuration, you manage theme settings per store or storeview. You can visually differentiate stores by target group or branding.

Epartment and Multi‑Store: what we offer

At Epartment, we realize complex Magento (Hyvä) webshops and B2B portals, or structure with multiple stores, integrated with ERP and/or PIM systems via the Conneqt integration platform. Your advantage:

  • Technical setup of multi-store configurations

  • Integrations with backend systems such as ERP, PIM, OCI, EDI

  • Custom extensions suitable for each store architecture

  • Hyvä & Magento implementations at scale

Summary

Magento Multi-Store offers a powerful, flexible, and future-proof setup for retailers with multiple product lines or markets. You manage everything centrally but can still deliver unique content, prices, or language per store. For companies that need growth and technical integrations, like Epartment customers, this is the solution.
