What is custom development with AI?
Custom development with AI means building proprietary features for your webshop, such as a configurator or a subscription model, where AI handles most of the coding while developers guide, review, and test. The concept and key decisions remain in your hands and ours. As a result, a first working version is ready in days instead of weeks.
It works best on an open source platform like Magento. There you have access to all code and data, ensuring a new feature integrates seamlessly with your catalog, your pricing, and your ERP. On a closed SaaS platform, you can only build within the boundaries set by the vendor.

Subscriptions for repeat purchases
Coffee, filters, consumables: whatever customers buy repeatedly can be offered as a subscription. The customer chooses an interval, and the webshop creates the order automatically. We build it as a module directly in your Magento store, connected to your payment provider. No third-party app taking a cut on every order.
Exploded views with parts
For machines and installations: a technical drawing where your customer clicks on a part and orders it immediately. We link points in the drawing to one or more products in your catalog. Our first prototype was built overnight, on the Hyvä B2B Suite.
Configurators
A cabinet, a compressed air system, or an assembled product: your customer configures it themselves, instantly sees the price from your shop, and orders all parts at once. If you already have a configurator, we build the bridge to your shopping cart and your ERP.
Content scan and translate
An AI scan analyzes your entire catalog and highlights what can be improved: missing meta descriptions, product names in ALL CAPS, search terms without synonyms. A dedicated module then translates your content per store view, matching your brand's tone of voice. This lets you expand into new countries much faster.
Speed and fewer extensions
Many slow shops run on a stack of heavy extensions. Using AI, we rebuild the features you actually use as lightweight modules and clean up the rest. Fewer database queries per page, less vendor lock-in, and a faster shop.
Security that moves with you
When a new attack technique targeting Magento stores emerged in September 2026, we quickly built our own security module: Sentinel. It is now included in every new maintenance package. A new risk no longer requires a project that takes months.

Development. Our developers work with AI agents that write and test code. The developer determines the approach, reviews along the way, and approves every change. This speeds up the build process without anyone losing control.
Planning. Conversations, tickets, and appointments are brought together in a single overview per client. Your product owner can quickly see what's going on, what has been decided, and what the next step is.
Documentation. We no longer write customer overviews, technical descriptions, and manuals in hindsight. They are created as the work progresses and therefore always stay up to date.

Background
Why this is now possible.
Until recently, custom solutions were expensive, mainly due to the development work. A configurator or subscription feature easily took weeks of coding, even before you knew if your customers actually wanted it. As a result, such ideas remained on the roadmap, or you bought an extension that only half-resembled what you needed.
AI is shifting that. Coding is much faster, making prototypes cheap enough to simply give them a try. What doesn't go any faster: understanding what your customers need, making the right choices, and testing with real users. That’s where most of the work lies today, and that’s where we’re glad to sit right beside you. We’ve been our clients’ technical sparring partner for years; AI simply allows us to say yes more often.
That works best on a platform you own. Magento is open source: we have full access to the code, the data, and the integrations with your ERP and PIM. As a result, a new feature becomes a module in your own shop, rather than an additional subscription with a third-party vendor. And because AI primarily thrives on context, it helps that we've known many of these shops for years.

What does a custom Magento feature with AI cost?

Who owns the code that AI writes?
The module is placed in your own Magento installation and in your own repository, just like the rest of your custom work. Magento is open source, so any Magento developer can read and maintain the code. You are not tied to a license or a single SaaS vendor.
Is code written with AI secure and good enough?
AI writes, a developer decides. Every change is reviewed and tested in an acceptance environment before going live. Security updates and Sentinel, our proprietary security module, are included with maintenance.
What is the difference between Magento and a SaaS platform when it comes to customization and ownership?
On Magento, you have access to all code and data, allowing you to build any feature your process requires—and it remains yours. A SaaS platform handles hosting and updates, but you can only build within what the provider opens up, and you are renting access. With many custom processes, such as customer-specific pricing or configurators, you will run into limitations much faster on SaaS.
When do you choose an existing extension instead of customization?
If there is a good extension that fits your process, that is often the fastest route. Custom development pays off if your process deviates, if you are stacking multiple heavy extensions for a single function, or if you don't want to depend on a single vendor's releases.
Is this also possible on my existing Magento webshop?
Yes. We build new features on Magento 2, using Luma or Hyvä. If you are still running on Magento 1 or a custom platform, we will migrate first. That, too, is a lot faster with AI.
How quickly can an idea go live?
A first prototype is often ready within days. How quickly it goes live after that mainly depends on testing with your customers and the necessary integrations. AI doesn't speed up that part, and we don't want to skip it either.
